Bill Harrison – Silver Screen Cowboys II
Menu – Orange Chicken, Fried Rice, Egg Roll, Dessert & Beverage by Jeff & Vicky.
Program – Last of the Silver Screen Cowboys II – Westerns movies are a true piece of Americana. They provide a small glimpse of a bygone era when we believed in God, country, mom, apple pie and Saturday afternoon double-features. We watched legendary cowboys with rapt attention and awe as they filled the Silver Screen. These bigger-than-life men upheld the Cowboy Code of honesty, fair play and ethical behavior to beat the bad guy’s week after week. This presentation tells the story of four remarkable cowboy stars who rode the open range and fought outlaws and villains until social stability and moral order were restored. Lash LaRue used a pair of fancy six-shooters and an 18-foot bullwhip to subdue evil-doers. Audie Murphy, the most decorated soldier in WWII, rode the open range to bring justice to the Wild West. Charles Starrett will forever be known as the mysterious, black costumed, Durango Kid. Tex Ritter is considered America’s most beloved cowboy. He made dozens of singing cowboy movies, and his songs were in every juke box in America in the 40s.
